After the Session

  • Drink extra water after your massage.
  • Avoid drinking Alcohol directly after a massage, as your circulation is up and it will affect you more strongly than normal.
  • Don’t get up too quickly and do allow for some open, quiet time after your massage session. If you’re dizzy or light headed after the massage, do not get off the table too fast. It also may take a little time to integrate or absorb the results of the massage session.
  • Be prepared to schedule several massage sessions. Massage has its greatest benefits over time. The therapeutic effects of massage are cumulative, so the more often you get a massage, the better you will feel and the more quickly your body will respond. From one session to the next, relaxation deepens as the chronic patterns of stress in the body are affected and released. If you’re getting massage to address chronic muscular tension or recovery from a soft tissue injury, more than one session is usually needed.
  • We will go over a treatment plan designed for you, I will give you suggestions based on what you have told me and what I felt during the session

Before & During the Session

  • If it is your first time to my office please arrive a couple minutes early. This will give you time to fill out the medical release form, and for you to not feel stressed going into your session. When you come in feeling rushed or frenzied it can take longer to relax into the massage. [You can download the form here and fill it out before you come in as well.]
  • It is best if you do not eat a large meal right before your session, give your body time to digest before your appointment if you can.
  • Please refrain from the use of fragrances prior to your appointment. I have allergies to some of the chemicals used in perfumes & I want to be focused on you for the full session! In the same regard please tell me if you have any allergies I should be aware of.
  • Please Communicate with me!
  • Before the session we will go over your expectations and reasons for the massage.
  • Some people like to talk during a massage, while others remain silent. I will follow your lead, if you want to talk then engage me in conversation. I do enjoy chatting but will not chat away during the session unless you want me to.
  • During the session, report any discomfort, whether it’s from the massage or due to any problems or distractions related to the environment, e.g., room temperature, music volume, lighting, etc.
  • Give me feedback during the massage on the amount of pressure, speed of hand movement, etc.  I will not constantly ask you how the pressure is, I much prefer to listen to your body and what you tell me.
  • Don't be afraid to discuss any apprehensions or concerns. It’s important that you be as comfortable as possible during your massage.
  •  I can't stress this enough You will not hurt my feelings! This is YOUR session, I am working for YOU.

Directions
1281 University Ave, Suite B
San Diego, CA 92103
My office is located near the SW corner of University and Richmond. That is about half way between Park and 10th, East of the 163. There is a Hot Dog shop at the front of the building I am located in. If you choose to find street parking and the front door is locked please call me at 619-452-9562.
The parking lot is behind the building, you will need to turn down Richmond or Vermont and enter the alley. The building's parking lot has a chain fence, and there is a large OM symbol painted on the wall. Please park behind the black Mazda2 so as to not block anyone else in.
From time to time the lot does get full and I am unable to get a tandem space, I apologize in advance if this happens & you have to find street parking.

I am above half way down the hall on the first floor of the building. While I leave time between appointments if you get there and my door is closed, please note I may still in session. I apologize for not having a waiting room and I will be with you as soon as I can!
